(Washington, DC – December 15, 2012) – The Muslim American Society and the larger American Muslim community joins the nation in offering their heart filled condolences and prayers to the bereaved families of the innocent victims killed in a shooting spree last Friday December 14, 2012 at the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.
“This is a senseless tragedy of unbearable proportion,” said Oussama Jammal, chairman of MAS-PACE. “we stand together as one nation in support with sympathy for the families of the victims and the entire Newtown community and offer our prayers for healing and solace.”
The Muslim American Society hopes that these horrific tragedies in Newtown, Connecticut and previous similar incidents of targeted rampant shootings at innocent civilians will urge lawmakers to reconsider tougher gun controls. We strongly believe that the sanctity of life is more important than its luxury.
MAS-PACE is a division of the Muslim American Society (MAS) organized as a civic and educational organization. Its primary purpose is to conduct public relations, educate and mobilize the American Muslim community to participate in public affairs and civic activities on a non-partisan basis, and to activate a new generation of community activists.
